What to bring to The Doghouse
Each dog that visits The Doghouse should arrive wearing a properly fitted collar. Keeping your dog safe is our number one concern. We have taken safety precautions to keep dogs safe on The Doghouse premises, but please be aware that we are located on Summer Ave and there is often road traffic. Please make sure your dog’s collar is properly fitted and they are attached to a leash before they get out of your car.
We will keep your dog’s collar on during their time at The Doghouse, and keep their leash in a designated cubby until you come back to pick them up.
If your dog is staying overnight at The Doghouse, they may bring their favorite blanket or bed from home with them. We just ask that these items are safe to leave with them while overnight. We assume no liability for chewed, destroyed, dirty, or lost items.
“Meet N’ Greet” Consultation
To ensure that The Doghouse Memphis is the best fit for your dog, we will have a sit down consultation to go over your dog's history, address any concerns you may have, answer questions, assess your dog's behavior, and collect necessary paperwork for their first day. If everything goes well, your dog will be approved to join our pack. After approval, you will be able to book any service that The Doghouse offers.
To keep The Doghouse safe, we require all dogs to have received the following vaccinations: Distemper/Parvovirus (DAPP), Kennel Cough (Bordetella), and Rabies. We now require the Canine Influenza vaccine as of 5/1/2019. Please make sure your dog is up-to-date on their vaccinations. If they aren’t at the time of drop-off, we will unfortunately have to turn them away. We have the right to refuse care for any dog that has an obvious or harmful infection.
Our staff has trained professionals that are equipped to give your dog medications while they are visiting The Doghouse. If your dog requires medical attention throughout the day, please bring your dog’s medication with their name written on it and instructions for administration.
Our standard brand of food is, Fromm Classic dry dog food. If your dog has specific dietary needs please provide your own food in a container with their name on it.
Payment is due before or at time of appointment. Owner agrees that they will not be able to drop their pet off until all services have been paid in full. Owner will also be responsible for any surcharges if you are late to pick up your dog. See below for Daycare and Boarding surcharges.
*If your dog is picked up after 6PM, you will incur late fees. If you know you are going to be running late, please give us ample time to plan accordingly.
You may cancel your own appointments by using our online scheduling service or by calling our office. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours in advance, you will be charged in full for your service. We must do this due to our small class sizes and limited space. If you have an emergency or an urgent situation that would lead to a cancellation, please call us.
